Nearly 15 million tax and insurance paid after telephone reminder

Total 14.7 million were collected from debtors for month after a phone call or send SMS from the National Revenue Agency (NRA), the agency said. In August, the Revenue Agency began a pilot campaign to notify by phone or SMS to 538 firms and individuals within for unpaid duties. These are debts outstanding, mainly VAT for companies who have declared for tax payment in the budget, but have not paid within the statutory 14-day period. In 90% of call center experts from the NRA are connected to debtors by telephone. Sending SMS has proven very effective and inexpensive means of collecting arrears stated in the message. The price paid by the NRA for a text message at 3 cents, while average debt per debtor paid after a reminder by phone or text message is 27 320 BGN. Most payments are received from the debtors of the regional directorates of the NRA in Plovdiv - nearly 2,5 million EUR, Varna-656 thousand leva, Sofia - 582 thousand BGN and Bourgas - 578 thousand BGN. Of debtors who paid after a reminder by phone or text message, not imposed interim measures (seizure of bank accounts or wages, foreclosure real estate, etc.). Or enforcement cases were brought for compulsory collection of unpaid debts in time, stress by NRA.
